Platteville residents will get a chance to have their say on the potential funding for a proposed new aquatic center for the community.
This week, the Common Council voted unanimously to add an advisory referendum to the April 1st election ballot to ask whether or not the city should borrow up to nearly seven million dollars to construct a replacement aquatic center.
A recent survey conducted showed of those that responded, 93 percent “strongly” or “somewhat” agreed an outdoor aquatic center is important for the community and 58% of the respondents said they would support a tax increase for a new aquatic facility.
