A former Dubuque County Sheriff’s correctional officer is in the Dubuque County Jail on several charges related to child pornography.
Yesterday, 29-year old Benjamin Dalsing was arrested on 12 counts related to the case.
According to Dubuque Police, they began to investigating Dalsing in March after receiving information from the Internet Crimes against Children Data System. The information showed several child sex abuse related materials was uploaded to a device allegedly owned by Dalsing. Using a search warrant, police searched his home and took several electronic devices in as evidence.
Dalsing resigned his position with the Sheriff’s Department in March. He is being held on $50-thousand dollars bond.
