Two more candidates for Dubuque City Council seats have declared their candidacy.
Tyson Leyendecker, the former president of Dubuque Bank & Trust, and current president of Capra Bank says he is running for the Ward 1 council seat. Current Ward 1 council member Susan Farber earlier announced she will not be running for another term this fall.
Leyendecker currently serves on boards for the Dubuque Racing Association and the Dubuque Museum of Art, the Dubuque County Historical Society and Dyersville Events.
Former city councilman Jake Rios also has announced a run for the At-Large council seat.
Rios ran as a political independent last year in a two-man race for the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors
Rios served as the 4th Ward council member from 2016 through 2019. The At-Large council seat is currently occupied by Ric Jones who has already announced he will be running for his sixth term on the council.
With his wife, Paula, he co-owns the Little Leaps Learning Center in Key West.
