Following two recent fatal crashes a southwest Wisconsin highway intersection is now closed.
On Thursday, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Village of Barneveld, Town of Brigham and the Iowa County Highway Department closed County K access to US 18/151 following two recent fatal crashes at the intersection.
Barricades, message boards and permanent signage have been placed at north and south access points of County K. Barricades have also been placed at the turn lanes from US 18/151 to County K.
Officials say the 151 corridor from Dodgeville all the way to Verona is being studied due more traffic and the number of crashes occurring through that stretch road.
