The city of Dubuque’s list of items accepted for regular weekly curbside composting though the yard waste and food scrap collection program has grown. The list posted to the city’s website includes dairy products, bones, meat, poultry, fish and shellfish. If you have questions on what can be composted, REThink Waste Dubuque is a free tool that features a waste search tool, collection day reminders, and collection calendars. Type in the material you’re disposing and the app will tell you whether it can be recycled or composted or if it needs to be placed in your regular garbage.
