Iowa Representative Randy Feenstra, a Republican from Hull serving his third term in Congress, filed paperwork on Monday with the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board to run for governor in 2026.. Feenstra entered Congress after defeating longtime Republican Congressman Steve King in a primary in 2020. He previously served three terms in the state senate.
Feenstra’s filing is the second significant development of the day in the race for governor. Earlier on Monday, State Auditor Rob Sand, a Democrat, formally announced his campaign for governor. Governor Kim Reynolds announced in April that she was no longer running for re-election
