Two Injured in Galena Motorcycle Accident

Two people were hospitalized after a motorcycle accident in Galena Saturday Afternoon. Jo Daviess County Deputies responded to a call just before 3:00pm of a single vehicle, accident with injuries near the intersection of W. Council Hill Rd. ½ mile East of N. Birkbeck Rd. in rural Galena.
Deputy’s learned William J. Lambie was driving his motorcycle with a passenger, Leatha M. Lambie when he drove off the south side of the road and lost control of the motorcycle on the loose gravel shoulder. The motorcycle tipped onto its side and slid across the roadway ejecting both from the motorcycle as it came to rest on the north side of the roadway. William was transported to Midwest Medical Center and then transported by AirCare 3 for life-threatening injuries to Iowa City. Leatha was transported to Mercy Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. This accident remains under investigation.
