Iowa High School State Track Meet Starts Today.
The top Iowa High School track and field athletes are in Des Moines for the first day of the Iowa High School State Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Class 2A and 3A athletes will be in action first starting at 9 this morning and then Class 1A and 4A athletes begin at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
AM 1370 KDTH will broadcast 6 reports per day on area athletes competing. First report at 9:07a.m.
Girls Golf
- Class 3A Region 5: Wahlert won the Regional Championship played at Pin Oak in Manchester. Golden Eagles shot 341 winning by 19 strokes. Wahlert’s Erin Muller was the medalist with 75. Wahlert advances to state next Thursday and Friday at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course, Solon
- Class 4A Region 4: Western Dubuque won the Regional Championship played at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls. The Bobcats shooting 341 topped Cedar Falls by 2 strokes. Senior was 3rd with 357 and Hempstead 7th with 427. W-D will play in the 4A State Meet on Thursday and Friday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, Iowa City

Big 10 Tournament in Omaha
Hawkeyes Advance to Big Ten Tournament Semifinals
OMAHA, Nebraska – The third-seeded University of Iowa baseball team defeated 10th-seeded Rutgers, 4-3.
With the victory, the Hawkeyes won their pool and clinched a spot in Saturday’s semifinals, regardless of a win or loss against sixth-seeded Indiana tonight. The Hawkeyes jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after RBIs from Caleb Wulf, Daniel Rogers and former Hempstead prep Kellen Strohmeyer.

Men’s Golf
- The University of Dubuque men’s golf team completed two wet rounds of golf this week at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships with scores of 309 and 314 as a team. Wednesday, a constant rain held the 43 teams in check with just one team shooting below 300. The 225 individuals are being led by tournament’s best score of -6 for the first two rounds. After two days of intense golf, just three individuals are currently under par. The cut after Wednesday’s round would by +35 as a team, UD finished +21 on day one and +26 on day two.
