NEWS TRI STATE

During the Memorial Day weekend, the Archdiocese of Dubuque will be hosting a rare cross country Eucharistic pilgrimage.

The pilgrimage started in Indianapolis on Sunday and will continue for more than 33-hundred miles before it concludes in Los Angeles on June 22nd.

As the pilgrimage passes through the Dubuque Archdiocese this Friday through Tuesday, it will make several stops at parishes in eight locations along the way including Dubuque, Dyersville, New Vienna and Petersburg before continuing on to Cedar Rapids, Tama, Marshalltown, and Ames.

This afternoon at 4 o’clock, the Eucharist will arrive by boat at the Port of Dubuque Marina. A welcoming prayer service and community-wide procession along the Riverwalk will take place before a worship service at Cathedral of Saint Raphael.

The pilgrimage will then continue to Dyersville, New Vienna, and Petersburg on Saturday. Drivers along the route may experience some temporary delays.
