An early Sunday morning fire sent Dubuque Firefighters into action. According to fire officials, they received the call around 1:15 yesterday morning at 1707 South Grandview Avenue where a deck on the back of the building was on fire. The fire outside was extinguished in about 10 minutes upon fire crews arrival. Authorities say the apartments had no fire damage however light smoke damage did occur. The fire did spread to the roof and caused some damage.
There were no injuries; the estimated total damage was $60-thousand dollars. Volunteers from the Red Cross assisted two families to find temporary living arrangements. The cause is still under investigation.
