On a unanimous 7-0 vote last night, the Dubuque City Council decided to approve a recommendation from the city Park and Recreation commission keeping the list of city parks where leashed dogs and cats are allowed the same and not adding additional parks.
Leashed dogs are cats are allowed in most city parks with a few exceptions including the popular Eagle Point and Murphy Parks.

In other action: the council voted unanimously to approve a pay increase for the mayor and City Council positions. Under the new salaries, Dubuque’s mayor will receive $15,732 annually and each council member $11,799. The increase takes effect January 1st.
