Sherrill Man Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted Murder

DUBUQUE COURTHOUSE

A Sherrill man has pled not guilty to attempted murder charges and a trial date has been set.

19-year old Domani Stephenson is charged for his alleged role in the assault and shooting of 29-year old Excell Moore of Dubuque. Stephenson entered a written plea of not guilty and it was filed Monday. He is now scheduled to go to trial on August 5th in Dubuque County District Court.

Following the incident May 4th in the 400 block of Rhomberg Avenue, Moore was treated at the hospital for gunshot wounds to a hand and leg during what he told police was an attack by a group of four men who got out of a vehicle. Police say a review of traffic camera footage backed up Moore’s story. Domani Stephenson

Stephenson was originally charged with participation in a riot and unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon before the attempted murder charge was filed.

Three others were arrested and have also been charged in the incident: 20 year old Dontrell Harris, 20 year old Davion Harris, along with a 17-year old male.
