A southwest Wisconsin man was arrested after he barricaded himself inside a mobile home and held a woman hostage.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened Saturday morning around 10 when they were alerted to a man with a hammer breaking a window out at home in the Oak Park Trailer Park in Platteville. They discovered there was a man and woman inside. Authorities say they entered the trailer after hearing yelling, and found a man later identified as 34-year old Jonathan Blaser of Shullsburg holding a large knife. Officers reportedly game several commands for Blaser to drop the knife but he did not.
After about 30 minutes of negotiations, authorities say he allowed the woman inside to leave. Two hours later, Blaser was still refusing to give up and officers used pepper spray and a Taser to get to comply. He now faces a number of charges including Burglary, False Imprisonment, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting Arrest.
