If you’re searching for quality compost to improve soil health and plant growth, the Dubuque Metro Area Solid Waste Agency says to check with them. Officials say the compost meets or exceeds the United States Comporting Council standards for consumer compost use.
The Agency says residents can self-load small amounts, less than one cubic yard, for free from four bunker locations in Dubuque County. The sites are at the entrance to the Dubuque County Landfill, the City of Dubuque Municipal Services Center, the City of Epworth and Cascade also have sites.
The Agency says residents and landscaping companies looking to purchase larger quantities of compost can schedule appointments at the Agency’s compost facility for loading assistance.
