Even though the state of Iowa is now allowing citizens to shoot consumer fireworks during certain hours July 3rd and 4th, law enforcement officials remind you, shooting them off any other time is still prohibited.  Dubuque Police Chief Jeremy Jensen.

Jensen says on the 3rd of July, fireworks can now be shot between the hours of 9 in the morning and 10 in the evening and on the 4th between 9 in the morning until 11 that evening.

Officials add those wishing to use consumer fireworks must do so on their own property or with the consent of the property owner where the use is planned. Fireworks use will not be allowed on any public property, including streets, right-of-way, sidewalks, parks, trails, or open spaces.
