Dubuque Police are urging you to use patience and caution dealing with traffic before and after this evening’s Radio Dubuque/Dubuque Jaycees Airshow and Fireworks event. Dubuque Public Information Officer Lieutenant Luke Bock says several construction projects in the area could cause some significant traffic delays especially after the fireworks.
Bock says normally Kerper Boulevard has four lanes of travel, but due to construction this year only two lanes of travel in the area of the event will be available.
Another major traffic change this year is the closure of the southbound on-ramp to U.S. 61/151 from Kerper, that traffic will be detoured to the on-ramp at East 9th Street.
Bock says officers will be assigned to the major intersections helping direct traffic flow.
Tonight’s Airshow from A.Y. McDonald Park begins between 5:30 and 6, with fireworks after 9.
