One person has died and another was seriously injured in a two vehicle collision near Maquoketa.
The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened on Friday afternoon around 4:30 on Hurstville Road, just north of Maquoketa. No names are being released at this time.
The Patrol says their preliminary investigation shows one of the vehicles was heading north and crossed the center line hitting the oncoming vehicle head-on. One of the victims in the crash died after being taken to the hospital, the other person was taken by air ambulance to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
