Southwest Health Childcare Center Fully Funded

Thanks to a huge financial shot in the arm, Southwest Health in Platteville says their new childcare center is fully funded and groundbreaking of the facility will be this fall.

Southwest Health officials say Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and State Senator Howard Marklein have secured a two million dollar state contribution which pushes the project forward.

The childcare center, which will be able to accommodate 140 children of Southwest Health employees and the surrounding community was first made possible with a $2.5 million dollar Congressionally Directed Spending Grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In April, the project received a $1 million dollar donation from the Kaiser Family Foundation.

The center will be operated by Minnesota based New Horizons Academy and is scheduled to open by fall of 2026.
