Dubuque Democratic State Representative Lindsey James could make a run for Iowa’s second congressional district seat.
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports James told them she is seriously considering running for Congress over current second district congresswoman Ashley Hinson’s support of President Trump’s agenda-setting tax and spending bill.
James was first elected to the Iowa House in 2018 and is currently serving her fourth term.
Democrat, Kathy Dolter, former dean of nursing at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids and a retired Army nurse says she is entering the race for the nomination.
Because of low fundraising, former U.S. Attorney Kevin Techau of Cedar Rapids suspended his campaign June 30.
