The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department say seven people from Genoa, Illinois were involved in an ATV crash on a trail at Apple Canyon Lake near Apple River.
The accident happened around 2 yesterday afternoon. Authorities say the ATV operated by 34-year old Nan Ryan overturned after rounding a curve on a downhill grade on a trail and hit a tree.
Two of the ladies that were passengers: 35-year old Meagan Cleinmark and 31-year old Alexandra Hamm were seriously injured and had to be air lifted to a Rockford hospital.
32-year old Emma Risley was taken the Freeport Hospital. 31-year old Kendall Mackey was taken to the Monroe Hospital
Ryan, 31-year old Alexis Berry, and 37-year old Allison Janusz refused medical treatment at the time.
The accident remains under investigation
