The Dubuque Racing Association has announced 52 organizations in the tri-state area are receiving just over one million dollars in grant money being awarded in the DRA’s 2025 Core Grant Program. The average grant amount received is around $20-thousand dollars.
The Core Grant program supports grant requests up to $50,000 and focuses on people attraction initiatives – such as population growth, retention, and tourism.
This year, the DRA received 140 total requests, all of which underwent a thorough review by DRA staff and the grant committee before final funding decisions were made.
Among the higher one-time award totals were: Crescent Community Health Center receiving $35-thousand for expanding workforce capacity in the oral health field. Camp Albrecht Acres of the Midwest received $30-thousand for a specialty van purchase. Dubuque County Historical Society received $25-thousand for the renovation of the Mathias Ham House.
