The Iowa Street Parking Ramp in downtown Dubuque will be receiving a facelift. Last night, the Dubuque City Council voted unanimously in favor of awarding a $ 4 million dollar contract for the rehabilitation work to Keeley Restoration Services. This was the second time the work was bid upon. The first time, the bid came in over 40 percent over budget and rejected. The bid approved last night came in nearly $1 million dollars under budget after the project was scaled back.
The Iowa Street Ramp built in 1968 and has had structural damage which has forced the closure of most of the third floor. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2026.
In other business, the council voted 6-1 in favor of approving pay raises for police supervisors, police supervisors, the fire chief and the assistant city manager. The 7.24 percent increase will run through June 30th, 2026.
