The Dubuque County Sherriff has released the name of the semi-truck driver struck and killed yesterday evening by a vehicle while was checking the load on his trailer. Authorities say his name is 26-year-old Jayesth Paul of Canada.
Around 6:10 emergency crews were called to Highway 61 just south of Dubuque. Authorities a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Kaylynn Knight of Maquoketa hit the rear of the semi-trailer and Paul who was pronounced dead. Knight was taken to the hospital for evaluation and was released.
Southbound Highway 61 in the area was closed for nearly three hours during the investigation of the accident.
