Officials are still investigating the cause of a weekend fire in Platteville that destroyed an auto repair facility.
Shortly before 1 o’clock Sunday morning, Platteville Fire Crews were sent to Trace Automotive Repair at 645 Cheese Factory Lane on the report of heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage area of the building. Crews battled the flames for about three hours. There were no injuries reported.
The garage and everything inside was considered a total loss with damages estimated at $500-thousand dollar.
