The Dubuque Fire Department says it will soon begin accepting employment applications year-round. Previously the department only took applications once a year. Fire Chief Amy Schueller says the policy change will reduce the timing barrier making the process more accessible.
All those wanting to join the fire department must first pass a candidate physical ability test. The fire department will host orientation sessions about the test and employment coming up September 10th and 13th.
