The deadline to file for candidacy in the Dubuque city election ended yesterday.
There will be two primary races one for the mayoral race with incumbent Brad Cavanaugh and challengers Jason Davis and Deb Borley.
The other will be for the open city council Ward One seat. The three candidates who filed by the deadline are Tyson Leyendecker, Carmen Hernandez, and Delaino Cain-Watson.
Two other races will take place in the General Election in November:
In Ward 3: incumbent Danny Sprank will be opposed by challenger Matthew Henick
For Council At Large: incumbent Ric Jones will face a challenge from Chris Staver.
The primary election will be on October 7th to narrow the field to the general election on November 4th.
