A man is in the Dubuque County jail on a long list of charges including kidnapping and stabbing a deputy officer.
The incident happened on Saturday morning around 7 at a home in the 10-thousand block of Boleyn Road just north of the city. 
35-year old Cody Ary is accused of breaking into the home and then when deputies and police arrived barricading himself in a bedroom with a woman.
Authorities say when a deputy tried to get into the bedroom, Ary had a knife and the deputy received a cut to one of his arms. The deputy was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
After negotiations with Ary failed, officers deployed a Taser and arrested him.
