A Dubuque man has been arrested for firing a gun off Tuesday night.
Dubuque Police say shortly after 9:30 an officer on patrol in the area of University Avenue and Nowata Street heard three gunshots and investigated. The officer reportedly found a vehicle close by and inside was 24-year old Alex Heckard with a loaded handgun.
The officer said Heckard admitted to firing the shots in the air to warn someone he was in a disturbance with. He was taken to the Dubuque County Jail.
