A small plane crashed near Highway 61 in the Otter Creek area in Jackson County on Friday.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s office say the crash happened when a pilot tried to make an emergency landing after reporting mechanical issues with the plane.
Deputies found the privately-owned Cessna plane in a field located on 216th Avenue near Bellevue-Cascade Road.
The pilot had exited the plane and was assessed for minor injuries, but did not need further medical care. There were no passengers onboard . The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
