It’s Primary Election day for two races in the city of Dubuque. The two candidates that receive the most votes are nominated to appear on the Regular City Election ballot in November.
There are three candidates on the ballot for Mayor with incumbent Brad Cavanaugh along with two other contenders Jason Davis and Deb Borley.
The other primary race is for City Council Ward 1. The candidates are all newcomers with Carmen Hernandez, Tyson Leyendecker, along with DeLano Cain-Watson.
Polling locations are open at 7:00am this morning and close at 8:30 this evening.
