Boys Golf
Following first round play at the Iowa High School Boys State Golf Tournament at Hyperion in Johnston, Wahlert Catholic is in 7th place. The Golden Eagles shot 317 on day one, 22 strokes behind first round leader Dowling Catholic. Callan Martineau had the best individual round a 4-over 76 good for 15th overall.
Colton McCollaugh of Senior shot 80 and is tied for 36th.
2nd round play begins at 9 this morning.

Women’s Golf
The University of Dubuque women’s golf team won their sixth American Rivers Conference Women’s Golf Championship yesterday in dominating fashion with rounds of 310-306-322 (+74). Senior Leah Balsbaugh won A-R-C Medalist honors for the second time in her career after three rounds of 75-77-79 (+15).
The Spartans won the conference title by 33 strokes. With the title, the Spartans have now won six A-R-C conference championships in the last seven seasons.
