A southwest Wisconsin woman and former bank employee in Lancaster has been sentenced to jail time for taking thousands of dollars in money from bank customers’ accounts.
33-year old Samantha Watters of Boscobel was ordered to serve one year in prison and pay restitution after being sentenced in federal court recently.
Watters was indicted earlier this year on charges she forged customer names on withdrawal slips to take nearly $135-thousand dollars between March and October 2023. She pled guilty to one of the charges in July.
