One person has died in a fiery vehicle crash near Galena. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff says it happened shortly before 9:30 yesterday morning on West Stagecoach Trail, just east of Galena.
The name of the victim is not being released yet.
Investigators say the pick-up truck missed a curve, went into the ditch, struck a tree, and then went airborne landing back on the road and bursting into flames.
No one saw the accident, but witnesses who discovered it reported the truck was fully immersed in flames.
