If you travel between Iowa and Illinois using the Julien Dubuque Bridge, the Iowa Department of Transportation says sometime next year that trip will take a little longer.
D.O.T. officials have announced Bridge maintenance improvements have been scheduled to begin in the 2026 construction season so traffic will be detoured using the Iowa-Wisconsin Bridge.
No official start date has been announced.
