The Dubuque Drug Taskforce says prescription drug collection event held over the weekend was a success.
Officials say the total weight of prescription and non-prescription medication collected during the event on Saturday was nearly 189 pounds. The total weight of sharps collected was 139 pounds.
In addition between April and this month 202 pounds of medication was collected at the drop box at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center.
The items collected will be incinerated at a later date.
