A Dubuque man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a runaway girl under the age of 16.
28-year old Cody Schmidt has been given a 10-year prison sentence in Dubuque County District Court.
Schmidt was arrested in October 2024 after a Dubuque Police investigation starting in January 2024 after the girl told police a man, later identified as Schmidt took her to his residence, provided her with alcohol, sexually assaulted her and gave her money before dropping her off.
