jail prison sentence arrest

A Dubuque woman has been sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine after police say she moved 5,000 grams of the drug between four Iowa cities.

This week 39-year old Katie Kammerude was ordered to serve 9 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Kammerude pled guilty to the charges in June.

Authorities say Kammerude drove between Des Moines, Davenport, and Iowa City to pick up large amounts of meth from July to September of 2024. She then sold the drugs to multiple people in Dubuque.
