This not the news Thanksgiving holiday travelers want to hear: a potent winter storm continues to take aim at the tri-states and will impact travel across the region this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of Iowa, the southern third of Wisconsin, and most of Illinois from late Friday night through late Saturday night.
The Weather Services says late Friday night through Saturday night heavy snow is possible with the Dubuque area and elsewhere receiving at least six inches and in some locations up to a foot or more of snow is possible before the storm pulls away from the area on Sunday morning.
After the snow leaves, a big chill will hit the area with lows overnight Sunday hovering around 0 with highs only in the upper teens on Monday.
