Comiskey Park in Dubuque will be getting another round of upgrades next year.
This week the Dubuque City Council approved a 2.5 million dollar bid from Portzen Construction to do the work. The bid came in nearly 900-thousand dollars under budget.
A federal grant of two million dollars with matching funds met by general fund bonds and Community Development Block Grant dollars are paying for the improvements.
Additional basketball courts, a full-length soccer field, and walking trails will be part of the project. The work will begin in the spring and be completed by October.
