Following the record setting snowfall in Dubuque over the weekend and potential for more snow soon, the City is reminding residents about snow removal on their sidewalks.
The city says residents and property owners must clear their sidewalks of snow and ice within 48 hours after a snow event ends. If not, they say a City contractor may be called to remove the snow with the cost assessed to the property owner.
The City also reminds residents blowing or shoveling snow into the street is a violation of a City ordinance. Violators could be fined up to $750 dollars and court costs and are also liable for any road hazards they create.
