The Platteville Common Council has filled a vacancy on the council.
Late last week during a special meeting the council appointed Brian Whisenant to fill the vacant District 4 council seat.
Whisenant takes over the remainder of the term left vacant following the retirement announcement of Ken Killian earlier this year. The term runs through April 2027.
Whisenant will be sworn in during tomorrow evenings regular council meeting.
