Dubuque Firefighters were called to a house fire yesterday afternoon.
Around 4:30 crews were sent to 23-08 Prince Street on the report of a home filling up with smoke. When they arrived they found the fire coming from the 2nd floor of the residence and the fire was contained to the room it was in and extinguished.
No cause was reported. Damage is estimated at just over 23-thousand dollars. There were no injuries.
Also yesterday afternoon, Dubuque Firefighters and emergency responders were called to the Dubuque Regional Airport for a large fuel spill.
Officials say shortly after 1:30 approximately 400 gallons of aviation gasoline spilled in the tank farm area at the airport.
Adjacent buildings were evacuated as a precaution. The spill was cleaned up by airport responders and hazmat personnel.
No injuries were reported and no hazardous conditions were detected during the incident.
