Iowa & National Gas Prices Drop

Iowa’s average gasoline price fell again this week, dropping 9 cents to $2.46 per gallon, according to a GasBuddy survey of more than 2,000 stations statewide. Prices across Iowa are now 24 cents lower than a month ago and 21 cents below levels from a year earlier. Diesel prices also declined nationally, with the average falling 5 cents to $3.62 per gallon. GasBuddy reported the cheapest price in Iowa on Sunday was $2.03 per gallon, while the highest was $5.11. Nationally, the average price of gasoline slipped 5 cents in the past week to $2.85 per gallon. That figure is down 22 cents from a month ago and 13 cents from the same time last year, based on data collected from 150,000 stations. Historical data show Iowa fuel prices trending below national averages for the past decade.
