A man was killed after a crash in Mineral Point in which his vehicle caught fire. According to a press release from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, 58 year old Timothy D. Walrack of Mineral Point, was pronounced dead at the scene. First responders were called just before 9 o’clock Thursday night to the 800 block of Oak Street for a report of a fatal vehicle fire. The release states that an investigation determined Walrack lost control of the car as he turned into a private driveway, the car slid into a ditch, and Walrack was unable to drive out. The vehicle caught fire and Walrack, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was unable to exit. The crash is under investigation.
