We now know the names of the two people shot and killed during an incident early Sunday morning in downtown Dubuque.
Authorities identify the men as 28-year old Jaiondrick Lovely and 29-year old Cory Wilson Junior.
Dubuque Police say Lovely shot Wilson during a fight outside Odd Fellows bar on Locust Street. An officer who had arrived witnessed the shooting and then shot at Lovely. Both men were taken to Dubuque hospitals where they later died of their injuries.
The officer was uninjured and remains on critical incident leave in pending a review by the Iowa Attorney General’s office, and the Dubuque County Attorney’s Office.
Dubuque Police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the shooting of Wilson and are asking if anyone has any information to contact the Dubuque Police Department.
