How dementia affects the brain and what you can do to help the people in your life living with dementia will be discussed at a free workshop next week in Dubuque. The Carnegie-Stout Public Library is hosting the Dementia Simulation Experience this Tuesday morning beginning at 9:30 presented by Stonehill Communities.
The workshop will include a lecture by Nancy Zachar Fett, a professor of social work at Loras College along with the opportunity to simulate how dementia changes your perceptions and relationship with the world around you.
The workshop is free but pre-registration is required as space is limited. There will be repeat sessions February 3rd, March 3rd, and April 7th.
