Final Day for Denver Air Connections Flights

Today marks the final day Denver Air Connection jets will be departing from the Dubuque Regional Airport to O’Hare in Chicago.

Last month the City of Dubuque voted in favor of terminating its contract with the commercial airline which included paying a revenue guarantee until flight could be self-sustaining.

Despite extensive efforts for about one year by the city and community to get enplanements to the necessary 80 percent passenger level it failed to do so with flights remaining around 50 percent full.

Regional Airport Director Todd Dalsing reported losing the daily commercial air service means the city will no longer be eligible for federal Air Improvement Program Grant funding.
