Jo Daviess County Emergency Management says they are updating their disaster planning in hopes of reducing damages caused by future severe weather events like tornadoes, flooding, snow and ice storms.
The All Hazards Mitigation Plan update is being funded through a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The plan describes the natural and man-made hazard events that have impacted Jo Daviess County and identifies activities and projects to reduce future risk to residents, property and infrastructure before they happen.
The planning committee will hold their first meeting at 1 ‘clock this Tuesday afternoon at the Community Building in Elizabeth. The meeting is open to the public.
