The Grant County Sheriff’s Department says 2 people were injured in a two vehicle accident that could have been much worse than it was.
The crash happened Friday morning around 7:30 on Highway 61 near Stitzer. Authorities say a van carrying 7 passengers driven by 65-year old Mary Kopp of Stitzer pulled out from a stop sign intersection into the path of a vehicle driven by 51-year old Linda Gilkes of Fennimore and the two collided.
Both drivers reported having minor injuries but didn’t go to the hospital.
Kopp was cited because all her passengers were either not wearing seat belts or properly restrained in child safety restraints.
