The Telegraph Herald is reporting Hillcrest Family Services has placed their facility on Seippel Road up for sale.
Hillcrest has owned and managed the 75-bed facility since 2012 after it was purchased from Dubuque County for $1-point-25 million dollars. The move comes after a plan to restructure the facility fell through due to changes in state funding.
Hillcrest officials say the nearly 50 residents who reside at the Seippel Road facility will be transitioned to smaller five person homes throughout the Dubuque area.
